Graduate School student graduation checklist
This checklist is for students in the Graduate School. Students in professional programs should contact their program office for forms and procedures.
Step 1: Degree completion
Review the Graduate School's degree completion guidelines for your degree:
- Master's Plan A (with thesis) & Professional Master's of Engineering (design project option)
- Master's Plan B (without thesis)
- Master's (coursework-only option/Plan C)
- Au.D.
- D.M.A.
- Ph.D. and Ed.D.
Step 2: Graduation packet
Go to 316 Johnston Hall to pick up a graduation packet.
Step 3: Talk to your adviser
Speak to your adviser about completing all requirements.
Step 4: Holds
Check for holds on your record.
Step 5: Financial obligations
Check for any remaining balance on your Student Account. You will not receive your diploma until your account is paid in full.
Step 6: Submit your application for degree
All Graduate School applications for degree must be submitted to One Stop Student Services by the first working day of the month you would like to graduate.
Step 7: Commencement
Review the Commencement information from the Graduate School.
Step 8: Regalia
Visit the bookstore's graduation site to buy or rent your graduation regalia.
Step 9: GradFest
Attend GradFest and complete your loan exit interview. You can also buy your graduation regalia at GradFest.
