Charge Textbooks And Supplies To Your Student Account
You can now use your U Card to charge bookstore purchases to your Student
Account. If you are a U of M student, you already have a student account. Just
bring your U Card and another photo ID to any of the Twin Cities U of M Bookstores
and say "charge it". They will swipe your card just like a credit card and
you will be billed by student accounts along with other tuition and fee charges. If you have a brand new or replacement U Card, you must wait one day before charging your books.
Billing:
Bookstore charges will appear on your next monthly bill. To
qualify for the installment plan the charge must be made after the last bill of
the previous term and before the second bill of the current term; otherwise, the
charges are due in full. Unpaid bookstore charges may result in
registration and transcript holds on your student record.
Returns:
Be sure to
save your receipt in case you need to return or exchange books.
Return privileges are limited. Any returned books show up as a credit
on your student account.
Financial aid recipients:
Financial aid disbursements can be applied automatically towards
bookstore charges by checking “Yes” on the Financial Aid Withholding
Authorization section of the electronic Financial Aid Award Notice
(eFAAN). The charge must be made after the last bill of the previous
term and before the disbursement of aid for the current term.
You must:
be a currently enrolled student at the U of M
have no financial holds on your student account
have a valid U Card and another photo ID
U of M Bookstores are located at:
Coffman Memorial Union
St. Paul Books Underground
