Every University student has a student account that is used to
manage the billing and payment of student tuition, fees, on-campus housing
and certain other campus charges. Your student account can be viewed online
by clicking on the link "View your student account". Within "view my student
account" you can also link to UM Pay, the University
of Minnesota's electronic billing and payment system. UM Pay allows students
to view monthly billing statements, pay these statements using an e-check
from their checking or savings account and allows students to set up authorized
payers to view and pay tuition bills on their behalf. Within UM Pay students
can also link back to "view your student account". Here's an introduction
on how to access "View your student account" online. If you're
ready with your University of Minnesota Internet ID (X.500 username) and
password, select "View your student account" in the menu on the
left or you can login here.
What is a student account?
Your student account is used to manage the billing and payment of student
tuition, fees, on-campus housing and certain other campus charges. Every
student has a student account. Most financial aid money is directly credited
to your student account.
Each time you register, cancel, or add courses, a charge or credit is
posted to your account. This account reflects your total charges for tuition,
fees and other University charges. You can view your account transactions
by date or by term.

Does my account work like a bank
account?
Your student account is not a bank account. You will not earn interest.
Do not hold money in it. Any balance that is a credit is money coming
to you (with certain exceptions) and should be claimed so that you can
deposit it at your bank or financial institution.

Will I get a statement on my
student account?
All currently enrolled students with a student account and a balance
due, greater then $3.00, will be sent an electronic bill notification
to their U of M assigned e-mail account approximately two weeks after
the beginning of the semester and monthly thereafter. UM Pay is the University
of Minnesota's electronic billing and payment system. Click
here to login or get more information. Non-currently enrolled students,
Senior Citizen Education Program students, and students with an approved
exemption from electronic billing will receive paper bills. Your tuition,
on-campus housing charges, and charges from other University departments
are included on the same bill. You are responsible for paying by the scheduled
due date even if you don't receive your statement. You are also responsible
for maintaining a current mailing address with the University.
If you receive enough financial aid to pay your entire account balance
for the term, you will not be sent a billing statement. You may view and
print this information at your convenience by going to View
my Student Account the Web.
