UM Reports spotlight: identifying students with 90 or more credits
Did you know that UM Reports can advisers,
departments, and
colleges obtain a list of students who have completed 90 or more
credits but
have not applied for graduation? Four reports—the Student Roster, the
Major/Minor Roster, The Advisee Roster in My Active Advisees, and the
Student
Group Roster—can assist advisers in communicating with students about
their
graduation plans. Here¿s a brief synopsis of these reports:
Student Roster: This
report is by primary program and plan. This report is most useful for
college
staff.
Major/Minor Roster: This
report will pull all active students in the major for the term
selected,
regardless of whether or not a student has registered. This report is
most
useful for department staff.
Advisee Roster: Only
Advisers of Record can access this report.
Student Group Roster:
If you want to look at a particular population of students,
especially one
that crosses college boundaries, this is a useful report.
Advisers, departments, and colleges should continue
to
coordinate their efforts in communication with students. These are just
a few
tools that can help target those communications to help students stay
on track
for graduation.

New UM Pay option
Beginning spring term 2007,
University students or
authorized payers may choose to pay the balance due in their University
student
accounts with MasterCard, DISCOVER, or American Express credit cards.
VISA is
not a participant.
Payers who choose the credit card
option will be charged a
one-time, non-refundable service charge per transaction that is 2.75
percent of
the payment amount by a third-party vendor, InfiNET. For example, a
student who
makes a $500 payment with his or her credit card will be assessed
$13.75 for
the service provided by InfiNET. The service charge, which will appear
separately on the student¿s credit card statement, offsets InfiNET¿s
costs in
working with credit card companies.
All costs for choosing to pay with
a credit card must be
assumed by the payer. The University does not receive, nor will it
underwrite,
any portion of the service charge. Please note, the service charge from
InfiNET
is in addition to the interest rate charged by the credit card company.
Rochester is now a campus
It¿s official! Rochester is
officially the fifth coordinate
campus in the University of Minnesota system. Currently, Rochester¿s
degrees
are granted through the Twin Cities campus and Duluth. This will
continue while
the many details of this new status are addressed. Congratulations,
Rochester!
